Smothered Chicken Recipe

Hello everyone, in this video I am sharing my Smothered Chicken Recipe. This is my family's favorite recipe. It is very easy to prepare and delicious!

Ingredients:

1 whole chicken cleaned and cut into parts, seasoned, floured and fried
( I season my chicken with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, Lawreys Seasoning Salt, ginger powder, sage, and paprika)
1 Cup sliced white mushrooms or more
1 Cup sliced onions or more
1 Tablespoon Thyme
1 Tablespoon Rosemary
Salt and Pepper to taste
1 package chicken flavor, or 2 Cups chicken stock for gravy
1 to 2 tablespoons Crushed Red Peppers or season to taste

After frying chicken, pour off all the excess oil and use pan dripping to make gravy. Sprinkle about 1/4th Cup of flour on  pan drippings and brown the flour along with pan drippings then add 2 Cups of chicken stock or water with flavor pack to browned flour. Next, add herbs and salt and pepper, stir until smooth. Add mushrooms and onions cover and simmer for about 45 minutes. Taste and add more seasonings if needed, to taste. Next add your fried chicken parts and cover with lid. Allow to simmer for about an hour. Spoon gravy over chicken and sprinkle on the crushed red peppers enjoy!

Enjoy!
